Pakistan as a Neighbour

How many years will Pakistan and also to some extent Indians take to be realistic and mature? The whole world is fighting war against poverty, illiteracy, malnurisment, and many other parameters that make the lives of billion miserable. Why should we keep on fighting on trivial issues because of the political, historical, or who knows, because of the personal aspirations of some individuals? Why can’t the two or all the countries of the subcontinent realize that their destiny can’t be changed?
I remember one story from our epic ‘Mahabharat’. Yudhisthir, the eldest of the Pandavas was asked, “How many brothers are you?” He replied, “We are five, but for all mischievous outsiders, we are hundred and five.” Perhaps, in those days, the numerical strength of the household used to be important factor. But today, if the subcontinent or the undivided India is together at least commercially, it can be a force to reckon with. Even the so-called superpower of today and that of tomorrow will not exploit or threaten the brothers as per their conveniences.
Faiths can’t be stronger than the motherland. Faiths never teach division. Only some interpreters with vested interest spoil the society.

I was shocked to know that Pakistan will be opposing the candidature of Shashi Tharoor for the position of General Secretary of UN. Why can’t Shashi as GS of UN be a pride for Pakistan or for that matter for all of SAARC countries too?
