Election 2009: My Wishes, My Prophesies

I wish that the people of India and particularly the younger generation see the reasons in voting one of the major national political parties and propagate the idea with all the vigour and energy in them. It will certainly accelerate the growth of the country. It will make the reforms possible to be implemented that are necessary for making the system accountable and efficient. However, with the aspirations of regional parties that is under the control of an individual and or his family, touching all height unseen, it is difficult for any one of the national parties to get the right number for the ruling.

And then I wish a miracle to happen and the two major parties leave behind their apprehensions and join hands to rule the country in the interest of its people. After all, there is hardly any difference between the policies of the two. However, as I understand neither of the groupings will agree and surprisingly that will be as some in one party don’t like the faces of some in the other and vice versa.

I also wish all the cine-stars getting discarded and defeated by the people. It is as they put in all the black money earned from films that may be of dons such as even Big D. I am losing faith in the wisdom of my people of this great democracy who elect them. Have they seen doing any of these actor leaders, be it Dharmendra or Govinda doing anything in or outside the parliament? What is the logic behind a convicted Sanjay Dutt fighting an election? Perhaps with a win managed by money Sanjay wants to put a moral pressure on judiciary to go him free doing whatever he wants? Can’t he serve the nation in any better manner?

I wish Sonia Gandhi does some reasonable politics with her leaders and Rahul helps her mother in having a mindset change. I fail to understand why Sonia is sticking with Man Mohan. Many like me feel pity about him. And after his heart surgery, he is certainly not the best for the post. Congress is a big party with lot of talents. Why should not someone like Pranab get a chance? Pranab, for all practical purposes, has been the de facto prime minister heading majority of GOMs and ministerial responsibilities besides doing many problem solving for the party and the government?

I have some more wishes. Let Sonia as principle not accommodate any Shiv sainiks or pracharaaks in Congress, if she hates BJP so much and takes pride in Congress as secular party. She should not go after Lalu, Ramvilash, or Mulayam or sychophaant such as Amar. How will she like to be remembered by the next generations of India?

As some feel, ‘BJP is in a mess and the Congress faces anti-incumbency’. If Mayawati and Jayalalithaa fail to get the job and H.D. Deve Gowda and Naidu loose, many things may happen. Not only Navin but also leaders such as Lalu, Ramvilash, and even Nitish if offered the prime minister chair may join the third front. Prakash Karat may become the prime minister and he shall make Brinda his home minister in so called Third front.
