Obama and India

Bush, the president most hated by Americans became darling of Indians because of his personal interest and pressure to see Indo-Nuclear Deal through, that ended India’s isolation from the latest developments in the scientific and technological fields.
With Obama creating a history in US,Indians look to him with hope. Both, India Today and Outlook, the most read weeklies have placed Obama on its cover page. Some have raised doubts because of Obama’s statements on outsourcing and Kashmir, and some have mentioned about Obama’s respect for Gandhi and Hanuman. I feel in a little different manner.
As a true American, Obama, as it seems, will focus on the problems related to unprecedented financial crisis of US. The initiative of getting the best from him will depend on the leadership of India and Indians.
Can with the reputation or myth of mastery of knowledge and experience as economist, Man Mohan Singh charm Obama with some great ideas to save US and come closer than the heads of other countries? Can the Indians in US who matter, support and help Obama’s plans to change US in some innovative ways? Can Indian industrialists and managers help in his plan to create employment in US or save GM and Ford? Can Indians act to present itself going above its image of chaos for non-issues such as turmoil over difference of caste, language, state and community?
