Many readers of my blog were interested in knowing more about the rural initiative of ITC and HLL-particularly the rural mall. Above is the photograph of the first one in Madhya Pradesh. Some of them intend to know more as they selected the subject for their educational project. Both the initiatives-ITC’s e-Choupal and HLL’s Project Shakti are exemplary.

I shall like to share some information that I came across recently. Business World in its latest issue has compared both the initiatives and provides a lot of information. The first site provides detail of ITC’s initiative and www.hllshakti.com deals with HLL’s project intended to create a marketing net for the bottom of the pyramid population and to provide extra earning to the under-privileged in the society.

I tried to contact the people in both the initiative to bring them to my village, but failed. I wish they became more responsive.
