Can India Be Terror-free?

I am shocked and angry but perhaps helpless and ashamed too. I watched the terror attack on New Del: the day I left for USA. Today when I am preparing to go back, I watch a bigger terror attack on Mummify. With instant digital connectivity today, you don’t get a cushion before getting these shocks.
Unfortunately, every terrorist attack comes as surprise to the persons in Ind. Who are to control it, be it the chief minister of the state or the prime minister or the home minister of the country. It becomes political, as there is no national consensus on the means to fix it on long term. The main opposition party wants going back to tougher law. The present government does not agree, and now the prime minister talks of setting up a separate force. I wonder why it couldn’t happen in last four and a half years of his rule.
It is interesting this time and surprising too that US media, both print and digital, has covered the terrorist attack in Mumbai well and the American leadership both the President as well as the President- elect have reacted seriously.Even social media sites like Twitter have played it loud. Agony of terror has disturbed both India-based as well as American journalists. Newsweek has an interview with Fareed Zakaria. Vir Shangvi has expressed his anguish in Hindustan Times, and so has Shekhar Gupta in Indian Express. However, the solution requires steely strength and a lot of guts discarding dirty politics for this national priority. Unfortunately, I don’t see any one in Indian political pool who has shown some glimpse of such action.
Will Indian leadership be serious enough to solve the problem on long term and not shield people for keeping vote bank in tact? Many a times it appears the Indian leaders are keeping this alive to keep their importance. However, the younger generation of the country must voice their angst against the inaction against the terror in more vocal manner. Be it Maoists or Jehadis, India can’t afford any terror psychosis to grow. I wish Indian leaders change themselves to save the country and the countrymen. Let them take help from anyone, be it Russia, Isarael, or US, if they feel they themselves can’t do that.
