Obama’s Daring Step

As reported, Obama flew into Afghanistan under the cover of darkness aboard Air Force One late Sunday for his first visit to the country since taking office more than a year ago. “We are here to help Afghans forge a hard-won peace while realising the extraordinary potential of the Afghan people,” the commander-in-chief said in a rousing speech to US troops at Bagram Airfield just outside Kabul.

Obama defended his decision to escalate the fight, telling troops whose numbers he is tripling that their victory is imperative to America’s safety.

I was shore about the way US has started treating Pakistan. I heard the speeches of Hillary Clinton and her Pakistani counterpart when the later was on leading Pakistani team for a discussion.

The above report just stunned me. I have only some apprehensions. Was not Bush hated for his Iraq policy in US? Can Obama end terrorism with his extra attention and involvement in Afghanistan and Pakistan? Should not Obama consider the views of the important neighbouring countries in his decision on Pakistan and Afghanistan policy?

Will Obama succeed in his endeavour to root out the terrorism and Taliban by his actions? I wish he succeeds. Are Americans proud of Obama’s daring visit to Kabul?
